UNESCO road trip Germany

Day 1

Your UNESCO road trip Germany will begin in the Bauhaus city of Dessau. Night and breakfast at a hotel.

Day 2

Dessau is famous for its Bauhaus architecture. It is a must for anyone with even a small interest in design. The main Bauhaus building and its exhibits are worth the trip, but the tours offered enrich the experience even more. During your trip you will learn about the basic principles of modern architecture and visit the Klee and Kandinsky house. Night and breakfast at a hotel.

Day 3

After a leisurely breakfast, you continue the journey and the next site is the wonderful Wörlitz Park, outstanding in architecture, quality and garden design.
On a gondola ride you will admire the local calming scenery. The guide will take you through the garden sections. Night and breakfast at a hotel.

Day 4

After a rich breakfast, you will travel to Wittenberg – a famous Luther city. In the morning you will discover the Luther city with an audio guide. You will see the church of All Saints (the local church and the castle church), where, on 31 October 1517, Luther posted his famous „95 Theses“, which launched the Reformation. Following the tour, you enjoy visiting the courtyards of Master Cranach, the Town Church with its impressive Cranach altar, and the houses of Luther and Melanchthon. In the afternoon you will be escorted Dresden. Night and breakfast at a hotel

Day 5

Dresden is also called “Florence on the Elbe“. Discover the unique city of Dresden on board of a double-decker bus. The double-decker bus with multi-lingual audio guide takes you to the most important architectural, historical and cultural sights and highlights of Dresden. Night and breakfast at a hotel.

Day 6

On the way to Cottbus you will have an opportunity to visit the famous Fürst-Pückler-Park in Bad Muskau (about 41 km from Cottbus). The park is listed as a UNESCO world cultural heritage since 2000. It is the largest landscape park in Central Europe in the English style. Night and breakfast at a hotel.

Day 7

After a rich, vitalise breakfast you start the trip to Branitz, where Pückler created another masterpiece of landscape gardening – the unique impressive pyramid. In the palace you can find out more about the life and work of the renowned count. The exhibition in the visitors center “Gusthof” awaits you. The exhibitions in the castle will also impress you. Night in Cottbus.

Day 8

Today the UNESCO road trip Germany takes you to Lübbenau (about 36 km from Cottbus). In Lübbenau you will enjoy a boat trip through the Spreewald with its unique and unspoilt flora and rich fauna. The romantic maze of countless waterways through former floodplain forests is absolutely unique in Europe.

We will spend some time in  the Spreewald village and you will have an opportunity to visit an open-air museum, a local restaurant or a café.
Transfer to Berlin. Night in Berlin.

Day 9

After breakfast you can visit to and discover the Isle of Museums, which is listed as a UNESCO world cultural heritage since 1999. Also you can undertake a boat trip through the city centre of Berlin, which will give you the chance to see all the main sights of the German capital. Explore the city at your own pace. Night at the hotel in Berlin.

Day 10

Before you return home after your UNESCO road trip Germany or book a further travel programme, you will set out and explore Potsdam. On a boat tour you will pass the parks and palaces of the House of Hohenzollern. On both banks of the river Havel, the Prussian kings and famous master-builders created the unique world culture heritage landscape.
