Day 1: Christmas markets tour – Arrival to Frankfurt/Main

Your English speaking guide will welcome you with a cocktail in the airport. You start your Christmas markets tour with the sightseeing through Frankfurt/Main.

Overnight stay in Frankfurt/Main.

Day 2: Aschaffenburg – Würzburg – Rothenburg

Today you set off on the journey along the Romantic Trail via Aschaffenburg to Würzburg. In the heart of Würzburg’s Old Town one of Europe’s most enchanting Christmas Markets attracts thousands of visitors every year. Then you travel on to Rothenburg. You will have enough time for visiting small beautiful towns and their fairytale-like Christmas Markets. Overnight stay in Rothenburg.

Day 3: Rothenburg – Augsburg – Munich

You start the day with a sightseeing tour of Rothenburg. Visit the famous Christmas market with the world’s biggest choice of local Christmas souvenirs. Then you will travel to Dinkelsbühl with a short stop in Augsburg. The Christmas market in Dinkelsbühl has a long tradition and gets its visitors into the mood for the festive season. In the evening you will approach Munich. Overnight stay in Munich.

Day 4: Christkindlmarkt in Munich

The day starts with a big sightseeing tour through Munich. Today you visit all the most famous places in the Bavarian capital including the Christmas Market. The Christkindlmarkt is held in front of Munich Town Hall in a prime location for three million visitors in the heart of the city. In the evening you may enjoy a visit to the world’s famous tavern, the Hofbräuhaus. Overnight stay in Munich.

Day 5: Castle Neuschwanstein – Oberammergau

Today it’s time to explore the Bavarian highlights near Munich. You will visit the famous castle Neuschwanstein, “the castle of the fairy-tale king”. Nowadays it is one of the most visited castles in Germany and one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. Your second stop will be the baroque church of Wies. The outstanding Pilgrimage church from the High Baroque-Rococco Period is worth a visit.  The last stop for today is the small town Oberammergau. The town is known for its Passion Play which is performed every 10 years. The town is worth visiting even when the Passion Play is not being performed. Oberammergau is also known for woodcarving. Overnight stay in Munich.

Day 6: Castle  Herrenchiemsee – Salzburg

Today you leave Munich to Austria. On your way to Austria you make a stop at the Castle  Herrenchiemsee, which is known as a  recreation of Versailles in Bavaria. The castle is surrounded by a park and the second largest body of water in Bavaria. Overnight stay in Salzburg.

Day 7: Salzburg – Prague

The sightseeing tour “Christmas markets tour” in Salzburg begins in the morning.  Enjoy the city and its successful combination of old and modern architecture. Here you can visit the Christmas Market of Salzburg. Spending time in Mozart’s city is like walking into a winter fairy-tale. In the afternoon you continue the trip to Prague, which is often called the “Golden City”. Overnight stay in Prague.

Day 8: Prague

The Prague visit starts with a guided tour.  You will explore the city and learn the history of Prague. Then you can enjoy the atmosphere of the Christmas market at your own pace. On  the Old Town Square / Wenceslas Square and also in many other places in Prague, you can immerse yourself in the Christmas spirit. Overnight stay in Prague.

Day 9: Plzen (Pilsen) – Nürnberg (Nuremberg)

Today you travel to Nurnberg. On your way to Nurnberg visit a famous beer town Plzen. When somebody says Pilsen, most of people think of beer. And it is not surprising, because Pilsen provides the world famous golden lager, (Pilsner), after which beer of the same type around the world are named.
We reach Nurnberg, where the most well-known Christmas market is situated. The enticing aroma of gingerbread, mulled wine and grilled sausage hangs in the air at the Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt. Gingerbread, or Lebkuchen as it’s called in German, was invented in Franconia in the 13th century and Nuremberg became the most famous exporter of what is now known today as Nürnberger Lebkuchen. Enjoy your pre-Christmas time at the Christmas market.

Day 10: Departure

It’s time to say good bye to the Christmas fairytale and the Christmas markets tour. You return to Frankfurt airport and take your flight home.
